Tony Pearce is a very experienced solicitor. He has worked in almost all areas of legal practice with a particular emphasis on private and commercial disputes. For the past 16 years, Tony has specialised in disputes relating to wills, codicils, trusts, estates and fraud/financial loss matters related to elderly, vulnerable or disabled individuals.
The disputes Tony helps his clients to resolve are often very complex. Wherever possible he advocates mediation and dispute resolution as an alternative to the court process. Sadly, this type of dispute has increased considerably over the past two decades. There has also been a significant increase in financial abuse of elderly and disabled people.
Tony is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is also a former Deputy District Judge and qualified in 1994 for admission as a solicitor and barrister of the High Court of New Zealand. Tony is one of the founding editors of the Contentious Probate section of Certainty, the National Will Registration Company.
In addition to his many years in legal practice, Tony also draws on his varied life experience including a period in the Armed Forces and previous careers as a diver and a salesman in a Blue Chip manufacturing company.
