Roche Legal is an award-winning boutique law firm based in York. We are a niche firm specialising in private client law, including wills, powers of attorney, Court of Protection, probate, elderly client law and missing persons law. We are a paperless office and continually work towards the reduction of our carbon footprint.

As an associate you will provide accurate, timely and efficient fee-earning work to clients with a high degree of skill and care whilst ensuring an excellent level of service for clients.

We love to help people learn and grow and you will be provided with a structured onboarding and career development plan to align with your individual professional and personal goals. We are looking for a solicitor with at least 5 years’ experience in private client law, who is adept at managing their own caseload and able to assist other staff members with theirs. 

This is a full-time job (Mon-Fri) where office presence is preferred for at least part of the week, although remote working is offered. You may bring your dog to work, if you have one.

Main Duties:

To provide excellent legal advice, assistance and representation to the firm’s clients in the following key areas:

  • Non-contentious probate and administration matters.
  • Drafting and advising upon Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and ancillary documents.
  • Elderly client and vulnerable client affairs, to include Court of Protection work, managing affairs and general planning.
  • Estate planning, to include Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax advice.
  • Administration of Trusts.
  • Incidental residential property-related work, but not conveyancing.
